Spirit Hall Is Open! Practice Schedule To Change Monday

By Geno Palazzari, 10/18/20, 5:00PM MDT

The ice at Spirit Hall is ready. Fred and his team at CCPR have been working tirelessly to get the ice ready. Be sure to thank them for all their hard work.

This means that we will start our new practice schedule on Monday. Be sure to check both the Spirit Hall and Campbell County Ice Arena calendars to see when your team(s) will be practicing. If you have any questions, be sure to check with your coaches and team manager.

Here is a message from Fred regarding the new ice.

"In an ice arena setting, when we create a new fresh sheet of ice, the ice will go thru a process of cracking. This is the way the ice expands and settles. This season at spirit hall we made the complete sheet of ice out of RO water. We are seeing and hearing the ice doing the self cracking like we have never seen before. Some of it is very loud.

Monday is opening day of Spirit Hall. You as parents and the hockey players may experience some of this still taking place, and may do so throughout the season. If you happen to see or hear it, it is part of the process. The RO water is a new concept and process that we are still figuring out.
The other amazing thing about the RO water is it looks like there is one coat over the paint, it is so crystal clear. In all reality there is an inch and 1/8 over the lines. You will also notice that your skate blades will stay sharp longer due to lack of minerals from the water.
Welcome back to Spirit Hall."
